Only three years later, there were many of those rubber sandals being sold across the stores in Brazil. Numbers say that about one thousand pairs were being sold daily and there were even competitors who tried to make imitations of Havaiana sandals. For that special purpose, there was a marketing campaign that tried and succeeded in distinguishing original Havaiana sandals from those imitators in 1970.
It was clear they will make even bigger success because of those imitators and great campaign that made them famous. Sandals were comfortable and were bringing success and growth to company each year, until early 90's. Those were the years when a small crisis for Havaiana sandals appeared. To overcome the crisis and fight for the market, the Havaianas brand launched a single color sandals: Havaianas TOP. It was supported by good marketing strategies and tactics which lead this sandal to win over the upper classes and break fantastic results in sales a history of Havaiana sandals. As the brand was revived, Havaianas were declared as an unique product on the markets worldwide. Magazine ads started to reach out to previously unexplored segments of the public, which was another great move.
Another great success came in the time of World Soccer Cup. Havaianas Brazil were launched and new lines and styles continued to expand the Havaianas sandals. Celebrities were getting familiar with them, top models too, and there was nothing that could stop Havaianas in the year of 2000. Export was growing to the roof and magazine covers of the top fashion magazines across the world were full of them. They became a standard accessory at events such as the Sao Paulo fashion week and similar.
